Archiving My Jewelry - Items #3 and #4 (The Mommy/Daughter Matching Thing)
I started archiving my jewelry here so that my daughter would one day know how I amassed such a collection of (mostly) costume jewelry. She'll get it all one day, that lucky girl. But she'll have to add it to the collection that she has already started. She's 5, by the way. Yes, I've created a monster. May I introduce you to Items #3 and #4 in my jewelry collection - matching bangles!

Archiving My Jewelry - Item #2
The archiving of my jewelry continues, slowly but surely. This jewelry purchase occurred around 2002, when I was going through a phase of only purchasing items from Target off the clearance racks. It became a sort of game for me. I had a plan of attack for each nearby Target: first, I made a beeline for the jewelry/accessory clearance racks, then the clothes and then the shoes. If I had time, I would hit up housewares. I loved seeing those little orange stickers and gave myself bonus points for spotting something now on sale that I had wanted to purchase before at "full price." Yeah, I'm kinda weird when it comes to shopping. But what resulted from this phase was a whole lot of (cheap) jewelry. And the cheap stuff always gets me the most compliments! Go figure.
Here's a cute little birdie necklace I snagged during my Target phase. It sort of has a neutral color and yet has the birdie detail that makes it stand out. It was so cheap I hope it's still intact if/when my daughter wears it!
"Bird and Flower Necklace" - Item #2
Purchased at Target - 2002
Under $5.00

Head Over Heels For True Birds
I have fallen in love...with True Birds headbands! Today, I wore my most recent purchase - a mint green and silver sequined one with a navy blue striped flower, designed by Jerell Scott of Project Runway fame. Those colors don't even sound like they should go together but it all works and I totally rocked it. I think I lost count of all the compliments I received today. These headbands are definitely head turners!
I know a lot of girls think headbands only look good on certain faces. I completely disagree. Anybody can rock a headband. You just have to pick the right one. If you're into headbands that are totally chic, sassy and cute, check out True Birds. You will not be disappointed.
